Global Learning is a full service consulting and training organization that provides innovative solutions in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion. One of those solutions is AODA Expert – a mobile application that answers frequently-asked questions about the AODA, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, that became law in 2008.

There is a full search capability built into the application, providing a means to search the database based on keywords. In addition, questions not already answered by the application can be submitted to our experts, and the question and answer will be added to the database.

The BlackBerry version is available through MobiHand by searching the key words "AODA" or "Global Learning."

FAQ

Can I search for any text in the questions?
Yes. Any sequence of characters can be included in the search. Note that if you want to search for a particular word, it’s best to precede and follow it with spaces so that only that standalone word is searched for. Otherwise, larger words with the same sequence of letters will also be included.

Does the search include both questions and answers?
Yes. All of the questions and answers are searched within the topic selected from the main screen.

Why does the screen show "No Results" when I type my search word?
The search does not begin until you press the "Search" button on the keyboard. Asynchronous search (searching as you type) is turned off to keep the keyboard responsive while you type, since searching is a processor-intensive task.

Loading seems to take a long time.
The FAQ data is loaded at startup, and the time taken will depend on the speed of your internet connection.

My question isn’t among those answered. What can I do?
Select "Ask New Question" from the main screen. This will present an email screen where you can send us your question. This will be answered and included in the FAQs. Note that you will need email to be set up on your device.
