At Loblaw we are committed to our nation’s diversity, this is core to our shared values. In 2012 we initiated work with Global Learning to support our new, grass-roots program called, Diversity Champions. Elaine and her talented team worked with us to define our approach to learning for this program that included an initial orientation and sustained interactions throughout the program. The approach was fresh, simple and relevant. The instructors at Global Learning are knowledgeable, engaging and their passion for this work is palpable. As this program has grown, we have continued to work with Global Learning to refine our initial approach and make new offerings such as the Diversity Moments™. Global Learning delivered a training session on the topic of personal biases for a small team in our organization. During my engagement with Global Learning I found them to be responsive, insightful and collaborative. The content of the training was tailored exactly to our learning objectives and was developed and delivered under extremely tight timelines. The success of the training was largely due to our facilitator, Kate Moore. Kate created a safe environment for participants to share their opinions and ask questions on a topic that is both sensitive and personal. Kate is knowledgeable on the subjects of diversity, inclusion and personal bias and used a variety of activities (i.e. role play, case studies, discussions, online resources) to stimulate and apply learning. Overall, Global Learning and Kate did an outstanding job at collaborating with us to create a product that exceeded our expectations.
