As we step into February, Global Learning embraces the theme, "Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build," honouring the richness of the past and the promise of tomorrow. While the month serves as a reminder of the outstanding contributions made by Black individuals, it is crucial to acknowledge that this celebration extends far beyond the confines of 29 days.

Black History Month is more than a month of commemoration; it's an opportunity to celebrate the resilience, talent, and brilliance that define Black communities.

In the spirit of amplifying voices and fostering change, let's take a moment to appreciate Black community organizations that make a difference, such as:

• Black Business Initiative (BBI): Focused on economic development, BBI supports Black-owned businesses and professionals, offering resources, training, and networking opportunities to foster success in various industries.
• Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA): Supporting the economic success of Black businesses and professionals, BBPA is dedicated to creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and career advancement.
• Congress of Black Women of Canada: Advocating for the rights and well-being of Black women, this organization plays a pivotal role in addressing issues related to gender equality, education, and social justice.
• Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL): Committed to promoting equity, justice, and excellence within the legal profession, CABL supports Black lawyers and legal professionals across Canada.
